🛠️ The Pet Stop Is Expanding to Better Serve Anchorage Pets
Big improvements are on the way at The Pet Stop, and they’re all designed to enhance how we care for your pets while creating a smoother, more comfortable experience for you.
We’re expanding our hospital by just over 1,000 square feet and reworking both client-facing and behind-the-scenes spaces to support advanced care, improved flow, and a more thoughtful environment for every visit.
Construction will begin mid spring, followed by approximately 9 weeks of buildout, with substantial completion expected in late June to early July.
🚧 What to Expect During Construction
We know construction can raise questions, and we’re committed to making this process as smooth as possible.
Construction hours will typically be between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Some noise may occur, but louder work will be scheduled before or after business hours whenever possible
Parking will not be affected
The existing lobby space will remain fully functional for the first 6–8 weeks of the project
Our goal is to maintain a safe, calm, and welcoming environment throughout the renovation.

We’re introducing two dedicated comfort rooms with private walk-out doors.
These spaces provide:

A quieter, more peaceful environment
A more compassionate experience when it matters most
Separate Spaces for Dogs and Cats
We’re creating separate entrances for dogs and cats, helping to:
Reduce stress and overstimulation
Improve comfort for more sensitive pets
Support a calmer overall environment
Dedicated Surgery & Dental Suites
The expansion includes:
A dedicated surgery suite with pack and scrub area
A dedicated dental suite
These upgrades allow our team to:
Perform procedures more efficiently
Maintain better organization and sterility
Deliver high-quality care with greater focus
Added Convenience for Clients
We’re also enhancing the client experience with:
A new client-facing restroom in the lobby
Improved flow throughout the hospital
A Larger, More Efficient Treatment Area
We’re significantly expanding our treatment space behind the scenes, allowing our team to:
